Please note, the StarLite lettering is always at full brightness because it
is not very intense - even in the dark. It is designed to let you know where
the controls are, but not be too bright. The back lighting may be turned off
using the Display Push switch but the brightness level is not affected by
the Dimmer pot. The StarLite lettering is always at full brightness when it
is on.
The blue digits of the frequency display and channel display can go from
very bright to very dim using our high resolution dimmer circuit. The Dimmer
control pot on the DX959B starts dimming almost immediately when you start
turning it down from maximum. On some radios, the dimming effect is not even
noticeable until you turn the pot a quarter or half turn. This one starts
dimming immediately and dims continuously down to where you can barely
notice the digits are on. This is perfect for night driving. You make the
digits exactly as bright as you like them. Of course, the digits can be shut
off completely with the Display Push switch.Only one Channel Kit can be ordered with each radio. Pricing includes installation. ****Echo option replaces the Talkback control and deletes talkback. *An Amateur License is required to transmit in the Amateur bands.  Product Description No "encoder" required. I wrote code in the software that allows the use of the Channel Selector switch to go up or down. It even deals with the out-of-sequence steps around channel 23. This means you won't need to rebuild the channel selector area of your radio to have a 3 digit display! As promised - easy installation. Galaxy 9X9's are still Plug & Play. ** Uniden made radios such as Cobra and others will still need the adapters so soldering is required on these. Normal turn around times;
"Major Custom radio's" 280 to 320 business days.
"Custom/Modified radio's" 45 to 60 business days depending on model.
"Stock/No option radios" are usually 1 to 2 weeks.
Depending on the difficulty of your build or the builds in front of it, this time could be longer.
"Major Custom" in this case means that you have added an option that requires a significant modification(s) to the stock radio that takes more than 3 hours to install. Such as the SP-1a, AD-203, upgrading amp deck, LesComm RCI Noise Filter, etc. are considered Major Custom builds.
"Custom/Modified" examples include LesComm Enhancements, Basic Clarifier mod, Amp Switch, Hi Cut Filter, etc. just to name a few. However if you add a lot of these small upgrades it could move your order to the "Major Custom" category.
"Stock/No option" means just that. These receive only a general tune up.
